Threads - Threads to conform to the American standard taper dry seal pipe thread NPTF in accordance with specifications and gaging requirements described in ANSI B1.20.3.
Thread chamfers - Both ends of the plug shall be chamfered approx. 90" incl. The chamfer shall extend slightly below the root of the thread and the edge may be slightly rounded. The length of incomplete threads including chamfer shall not exceed (2) pitches (total).
Length - The length of the plug shall be measured overall on a line parallel to the axis.
Material - steel, high grade. Hardened by quenching in a suitable medium from the hardening temperature tempered to a through hardness of Rockwell "C" 36-43. (5-A) unless otherwise requested by customer.
Hexagon Sockets: to conform to PES-002-002-1
Hexagon Socket chamfer - a slight chamfer. radius or countersink is permissible, ref. ANSI 618.3
Identification Marking. Manufacturer's I.D. marking allowed providing ft is not detrimental to the physical characteristics or application of the plug.
